About Me |
This is my 13th year teaching. I was an English teacher in the Clarke County School System in Athens, Georgia for four years. I then taught Spanish for two years at Loganville High School. When they opened Walnut Grove, I moved here so I could experience what it is like to open a new school. It has been a wonderful experience, and I plan on staying indefinitely.
My Education
I graduated from the University of Georgia with a BSEd in Foreign Language Education. I then continued my education at the University of West Georgia and earned an M.Ed in media and instructional technology. I am currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Curriculum Studies at Georgia Southern University and have 2 years left in that program. I am certified to teach Spanish k-12, as well as ESOL k-12 and gifted students. I have studied abroad for a semester in Spain at the University of Salamanca, and have traveled in Europe, the islands, and Mexico. I love speaking Spanish, and I enjoy watching students learn how to communicate with others in different languages.
My Family
I am married and live in Winder, Ga. My oldest child is starting his first year of college, and my youngest is in 11th grade. I also have two fur babies, a Pug named Wally and a Giant Schnauzer named Gandalf.
